Draw a wall using the standard timber stud wall under MODELING - WALLS. Go into the walls PROPERTIES, Select EDIT/NEW, Under CONSTRUCTION - STRUCTURE Select EDIT. Expand the view to show the PREVIEW, under view option select SECTION VIEW. Select SWEEPS, Select LOAD PROFILE and choose a previously drawn section profile of the cedar lap boards. Adjust material, distances offsets, etc. Add more boards to suit.
Alternatively if fine detail sections of the wall are not required simply change the walls external finishes surface pattern to show horrizontal lines spaced as required for siding.
