Is there a way to make rendering maps NOT go in the wrong direction on curved surfaces as in the attached jpg?

My only solution is not one you'll like.. make a material (material a rotated) witht the material map rotated 90deg and apply it to that part of the geometry. There's probably a better way.. I just don't know it =(

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!

That's not a bad idea. There area limited number of curved surfaces. The part that is nutty is that the curved surfaces behave correctly in "surface pattenr", see atached. Somethimes Revit feels like a work in progress, lo these many years.

The idea works where the materials are separated into "curves" and "straights". Bad results where there is a straight line and curve all in one solid. See attached. A Revit based solution is needed. But good try by you, I used it as much as possible.

The only other option I can give is to make an in-place family that is extruded to the same sahape as the roof, apply the material to the new in-place family which should work correctly since it is a single geometry and not multiple geometries joined together. GL
