In autocad AEC you were able to asign specific wall ends to a wall type at openings. Is this possible in Revit does anyone know? The help file seems to indicate this is possible by showing a wrap with 45 degree splays using layers (?) but does not explain how to do it.

I desperately need to do this too. We are working on an extension to a C19th building with thick walls and 45degree reveals to the windows that we want to replicate.

I think the best thing for you is either a sweep or a wall host sweep profile, make it what ever shape you want, you might have to split and you can also click on the sweep and drag ends to window opening.

If your layers are setup appropriately and wrap at inserts is turned on and the layers you wish to wrap are ticked you should achieve what your after.

This is the window family I'm working on. The angled reveal is generated by a void blend, which is parametrically linked to the offset ref planes on either side. Obviously, the wall is just the generic one, but imagine that the window is in line with the core structure, then there's a multi-layered interior wall makeup (various layers of battens, boards, plaster and detailing). This interior makeup needs to wrap round the angled reveal and finish up against the core.
This family works fine in cutting the right shape out of the wall - it adjusts for wall thickness etc. However, the wall layers will not follow the reveal round to the window, they just stop.

Here's the miserable non-wrapping wall layers
EDIT : oh god , how embarrassing. I didn't have wrap interior turned on in the wall type. Panic over!
