Hey out there, I scanned through a lot of old discussions, but couldn't find anybody who had this problem:
I downloaded and imported some new .pat files - but the option to change the scale or units is greyed out. If I edit the .pat directly, it doesn't have the ;%Units= line or anything, just the name of the file, and then the code. Any sugestions?
Thanks - I'm a newbie, but trying to figure things out myself before resorting to forum posts

The only way I know of is when you first import the PAT file you can define the "Import Scale" at that instance only. If the scale is not to your liking, then re-import the PAT file at a different Import Scale.
I have attached a JPEG file to show you where I adjusted the Import Scale.
I am a newbie, so if there is a better way out there that someone knows about, please post it.
I hope this helps you.

Thanks Mal,
but even that import scale option is greyed out for me - is there some setting that I need to change to enable the import scale or something?

It shouldn't.
Do you have Revit 9?
Are you trying to change the scale after the PAT file has been imported?
Did you look at the JPEG file I attached?
How are you accessing the "New Pattern" dialog box?
Look into these questions. If this does not help, then you may want to E-mail me.
Good luck.

After you choose the pattern to load, the scale will no longer be greyed out and you can change it.
