I am looking to create a series of walls that :
1) decrease in width from 6" at top to 24" at bottom
2) decrease in length from 20' long at bottom to 15' at top
3) decrease in height from 9' at one end to 8' at the other end
Are there tutorials to help me figure out how to do this?

I'm not sure of any, but they will need to be created as in-place wall families. If you read through one of the revit in-place family tutorials in might give you some idea. But basically I would create a large mass wall and then use voids to cut the unwanted sections.

In addition, I needed to batter (slant) one side of an eliptical (in plan) wall. I was able to do this as an In-Place family, but found that 'normal' walls would not trim to (or intersect) this wall.
Any better way to do it so that they will trim?

You would need to edit the profile of the intersection walls manually to trim to the angled wall.
