Is there some way to create a north arrow family that can be placed in a title block and given parameters for visibilityand rotation? Any help would be appriciated.
On a side note, has anyone though about creating a north arrow that automatically orients itself to true north after placing in the project?

The emailing thing works well, until someone else has the same question I have our office's standard title bar with a north arrow that turns on and off. It was our understanding (from a Revit implementation specialist) that these would be parametric to Revit's "True North". I'm now looking at it more closely and see no parametriciousness (my new word) to it. I can rotate my True North all over the place, but the north arrow sits...lifeless...mocking my Revit inexperience.

Here's the one we use. The north arrow rotation is a type parameter in the family.

Your title is set up similar to ours...but what I am wanting is a north arrow that parametrically (read automatically) adjusts per project orientation. Any ideas?

Its quite easy to have a north arrow have a type parameter in your titleblock that is set once for a project for its orientation. This is exactly what we do. However it is not currently possible to link this with the actual project orientation, so you could rotate your project and have the arrow adjust. This is still a manual process. But using the previous method at least it only needs to be done once.
