I'm new to RevitCity and Revit but have been using Timberline Estimating Extended for eight years.
I'm interested in aligning my Timberline database assemblies with Revit objects and extracting Revit object data via ODBC to be used in Timberline Estimating.
Any one else out there interested in the same issues?

Yes, I believe a lot of people, especially more advanced users are very interested in connecting Revit to cost estimating databases. There have been many attempts to do so, but there are a lot of variables that need to come together to do this right... or at least what YOU think is right... get my drift? This makes it a difficult challenge. If anyone has done it successfully or knows of a product that can, please speak up!

We are in the process of starting a project linking Revit database with Intuit Quickbooks UK through a Microsoft SQL server in combination with an ecommerce website. US version is similar process.
Is anyone interested in collaboration, my own software team is starting this month.

I'm using Innovaya's software Virtual Estimating. It is an API program linked with Timberline that does what tomsweeney and hjacobs is wanting.
www.innovaya.com
It works especially well with Revit because architects are forced to draw in 3D (we'll if they're smart)
It also works with ADT but more often than not you get a hybrid 2D, 3D, xrefed mess with ADT files.

I agree with mfkkd in using Innovaya. We had a presentation given by the owner of the company and we were blown away with the amazing results of the program, it's integration of Timberline software and the Revit model, and the simplicity of understanding the program. Our in-house cost estimating team was glad to hear that they could still use their knowledge of Timberline in conjunction with Innovaya's integration package and our design team (myself included) were glad to see the effects of our design on cost almost immediately.
