I need HELP
I am using 2D drawing in Autocad(R)
for several years ( also extrude 3D)
is there a best way to translate my 2D to REVIT
now i can only see that importing 2D dwg files from ACAD
can only be used as a trace line for revit
IS THAT SO or am i still missing some Good procedures
I wanted my 2D dwg to be translated easily to revit
THANKS for HELP ~~ ANY

you are correct
you cannot directly translate your 2d autocad files into revit files

after i imported my 2d walls unto REVIT
i will have to redraw all parametrically

I would "link" the CAD file into Revit rather than import it. There is a "link" box that you can check and the link then acts like an xref. When you are done using the ACAD file then go to "manage links" and delete it or simply select the linked image and hit the delete button.
Linking the file in will ensure that no unwanted remnants of a CAD file remain in the Revit file.
