Our organisation have been working with cooperation partners who's been sending us their designs in DWGs while we work with Revit. As you can imagine it is painful to have to redraw these imported DWGs again, but I've found out there is a addon for Revit that can create Revit models by reading and analyse DWG lines and texts. That means it can create structural framings with marks and accurate sizes in seconds!

The addon is called MaxiBIM, and I believe that is still on beta stage and for now there ain't too many resources to be found. You can get a demo version product on www.maxibim.com and see some of the functions if you search for maxibim in youtube, for now it only provides a few functions but that already helps a lot and I would like to know if there is anything like it for Revit users now. Please let me know if any better alternative exists!

Hi,

In that case, you can do more than you imagine with Dynamo.

You can make Revit to read DWG and automaically generate almost everything from it.

See what i did with it.
