Had seen a procedure for this that seemed kind of involved. All I do is ckick on wall and "edit profile" align the purple line defining the top of the wall with the bottom of the stair carriage. Is this a vaild approach or should I anticipate some unforeseenproblems down the road as the model progresses

The involved process you speak of was regarding attaching a curved wall to curved stairs. rather than edit profile, i just draw a reference line at the same angle as the stair and then attach the wall to this...

Thanks, do you anticipate any problems with just editing wall profile. I'll try the refence line. Have I got it right that you'd be able to attach the reference line to the carriage resulting in a wall that updates as the stair carriage is moved around.

No. Don't believe you'll be able to constrint the reference plane/line to the stair though...
