I am using Revit 2019 and trying to do a roof. It is a gable roof with a small hip at the top.

You should be able to do this with a single roof sketch. On those 'hips', break the sketch at the ends of the hip and add a roof slope dfining the hip slope.

I don't have a video, but you can download this file and reverse engineer the roof.

For some reason, the hip is not working. Even though I have broken the hip to make it smaller. It still shows up as a full hip. Where am I going wrong. Attached is the roof file. Any guidence would be appreciated. Thanks

Did you add the slope to the end of the hip in the sketch?

Yes. At the Gable end with the small hip. I have the two outside lines as "No defined slope". The center were the hip is. Has a defined slope of 6/12.

For starters, make two side line segments equal length and apply an offset for the middle segment (pic 1).
If you make those segments too short or the offset too high, Revit could complain. In that case try the option with two roofs (pic 2).
