Hello,
1st problem- beginner level
I'm sorry if i skipped some beginer's lessons but i cannot dimension this mass witout perpendicular helping lines on every non ortho line
see the img attached, i've tried with walls, sometimes works, sometimes not. but i have a site plan with long alleys and life is short .
2nd.... how can I add the TYPE parameter to a mass- generic model or model in place- wall. floor or wthatever (not made inside a family), i need that parameter for schedules. I can add a new made by me parameter but for a bench lets say i dont want to fill the other 20more objects that parameter
thank you very much

Revit dimensions are very precise. If two objects are NOT parallel, you can not dimension between them. Often, that is a problem with people that start with visually created mass objects.
For the dimension in question, I see the dimensions on the other side worked. Why? Learn how too dimension and how to use snaps. Read this and it's references: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2018/ENU/Revit-Customize/files/GUID-A3947840-1F30-41D7-AF75-B61687952A07-htm.html

They didnt work, i created those helping lines, every dimension must have a perpendicular line on the one i want to measure, as much as I try I cannot snap on both points and have an aligned dimension, i must have a line and a point- at least i dont have to create 2 lines.
is something that i miss with snaps? can you snap on both points of the ends of a line and get a proper dimension?
thanks

You can snap to both points and the dimension will be aligned. Read how to use your snaps!

You should read more of the knowledge item I posted and you would see how to use keyboard shortcuts.
