Hi guys,

Please find attached. I don't know how to lock reference line with angle parameter to symbol. I guess horizontal and vertical offsets are constraining it somehow. I know it should be possible as per attached 'good family' file, which is working.

The best way to have a rotation parameter in any family is to create a family that contains whatever it is you want to be abel to rotate and then nest that into a host family that contains the reference line that will rotate the using a parameter. Then you can align the 2 origin lines of the nested family to the reference line and its end point. The only reason the good family is working is because the lines are so short and close together that revit guesses that it is all related and rotates all the lines. This is not good practice however.
