Has anyone out there been able to export an animated solar study in the initial release of Revit 9? Every time we try, nothing happens. I've re-installed Revit, and tried it on several machines, but no go. Is this issue addressed in the latest build (RevitBuilding9_20060518_2300.exe)?
TIA for any insight

Sure. Have you read through the help documentation yet? Try a preview of the study first. If you preview it successfully you should be able to export it too.

Hey Steve.
Thanks for the quick response. Funny you replied, I considered emaling you directly as I know Mario and Lee in SF (HOK) speak highly of you.
Unfortunately, I still can't create the AVI. I can preview the study just fine, but when I go to File->Export->Animated Solar Study... no dialogue box comes up. I've waited for about 30 minutes, but nothing. It may be that there is a flaw in our SMS install package?

That is funny...I didn't even connect your username. So you are THAT David Ivey 8-) Am I visiting you soon? I heard that I might be.
If you are able to click on the export option it ought to be working. Is this a web download based install or from CD? If web...you might want to download and install again. Also there has been some instances where exporting to dwg went faster if you disconnect the network cable temporarily. Perhaps this may be related. Hope not.

Hey I heard you talk about SF, I hope you mean San Francisco CA. I live here and looking for some work so if you take a look at my gallery images and like what you see let me know. I would love to work on REVIT for money. Sorry for the topic change, hope you get a chance to reply to me, thanks

I don't believe the initial question on this thread was ever answered. I’m trying to make an animated one-day solar study. I’ve done it in 2008… but can’t get 2009 to make more than one frame. I’ve tried changing the settings… time, date, restarting the program, my computer… doing multi-day studies… but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?
