Hi, I am on revit 2016 , trying to edit top rail path in the picture to have a slope like the red line. How I try to achieve it and where I get stuck is like this,
1- I hover over railing and press tab to select the top rail.
2- I press edit rail on the ribbon.
3- It shows me the rail path as a light blue line, visible .
4- I press edit path button.
5- It doesnt allow me to edit that light blue path line. on top of that , it only allows me to select work planes parallel to stair runs, but I need a work plane paralel to that small part of top rail on landing.
6- I get stuck.
Just for extra info I uploaded how I sketched the railing, marking segment ends. (my railing sketch goes inside the landing space 2/3 of a single tread depth.)
I am a beginner on revit, any help is appreciated.

What you are asking cannot be done by editing the top rail element. This is can only be done by editing the railing path. You need to go into the railing edit sketch, then select the line segment you want to slope, change the slope type which appears below the ribbon when you select the line segment from by host to sloped, then adjust the height offset until you get what you want.

Thank you. Well then it must be impossible because selecting the path sketch with slope option does nothing in this specific case. Height correction does not respond too. I ll try to do the railing other way and correct it in autocad.
