i am after a detail family or repeating detail but not sure how to achieve.
i have created line based detail item, a simple 2" thick rectangle that can stretch with grip. however, once i set it up to be a repeating detail component i lose the ability to stretch the rectangle. i get the rectangle repeated but the rectangles are set to their default length and have no grips to be stretched. any idea? i am hinking it migh not be possible with repeating detail. i tried using line based component with array but cant seem to get it to do what i need.

Try using a type based parameter rather than instance based (grips).
