Hi guys!Is it a common practice for Australian Architects to share the 3D models and/or plans of their projects in a digital format (not just a printable PDF) with the Engineer's office (and for that matter, with Builders and Draftsman) in order to make the building process more fluent and accurate? Thanks!

UK here. Yes. Models (3D Revit BIM models) are shared to CDE every fortnight for team to download and use to collaborate and clash detect against. We give ours. They give us theirs. PDFs are the media format to share drawing sheets via CDE. Sometimes DWGs are sent directly to project team members if they do not use BIM software ( like landscape architects and civil engineers). PDFs ensure we have good documents control ( i.e. noone can forge our drawings). Models are issued with all content deleted out of them other than 3D content to protect as much assets as we can and again for document control.Fortnightly sharing is defined within BIM Execution Plan and happens as a minimum. Models need not be shared if they have not changed and may be shared in shorted periods than fortnightly if change is more rapid.
