I am trying to create a Ceiling family similar to the System family for a 2 x 2 drop ceiling - the difference being in the actual system layout. The current System Family offers ceilings that have the ceiling tile under the structure. In reality most drop-ceilings have the panel lay inside of the structural tees.
Any one have any suggestions?

does anyone know how to start a new thread on here? I picked start new thread but it brings me to some other webpage, all i can do is reply to other threads.
I'm having an issue with automatic ceilings in Revit 2012. for some reason it doesn't always work. I have made sure all my elements are room bounding, but I can go along placing ceilings and when I hover over the room, it highlights the room enclosure, then when I pick, the outline turns pink but no celing is placed. If I pick another room, I get an error, if I hit enter, it just goes away.
I called my reseller they say it is a known glitch with no hot fix. They say it occurs in 2013 as well. I find this hard to believe as it is a big PIA. I have a 10 story building with about 40 rooms each, only about 30% of the room will allow automatic ceiling which means I have to manually sketch almost all of them.
Incidently, I can place rooms in these spaces with no problems. Anyone see this issue or have suggestions?

I don't know what you are picking. From the forums page, click on the forum you think you should post in and click on "Start New Thread".
We have no problems so I know there is no glitch ... unless it was in an earlier build. Make sure you are up to date I think update 1
