I have a cavity wall made up of components and I need to remove a portion of the brick veneer above a window. Dont think I can use an opening because it would be the full wall thickness and I tried a void sweep but it only works on a 3dsolid. Any thoughts?

You can use a wall sweep - void- where you pull the ends back to where you need.

You can also create a face based family - void- that cuts it's host.  That could be parametric so you could use it for multiple applications.

The wall sweep void works so something is wrong with your process.  Remembe - this is a wall swepp, not just a sweep.

There is a face based template in your template file.   The shape has to be within the face, not sitting on it.

This is a new wall type. Create the new wall type. ( same as cavity wall without brick veneer). Go to already modelled cavity wall and edit the profile in elevation and cutout that part of the wall that needs to be a new wall type. The model in you new wall type into the cutout void you created. Align the internal face and join the two walls to remove any seams.
