I have imported cabinetry families and when you view them in elevation the handles/edges of the component are extremely thick to the point where they are not usable in drawings. I went into the component and updated the object styles to all have thinner lines. However this has no effect on the elevation in the main model. I can manually change the line weights with the line style tool. This is however time consuming and i would love a way to set it so that you don't have to do that every time you place a cabinet.
Any ideas?

In family create new linestyles with new names unique to family and project. To differentiate it completely to all existing line styles. Check handles are not child in parent families. If so you may need to change the linestyle sin there too.
