I am trying to create a curtain wall that has a flat, level sill and and a sloped head (in elevation). It is also sloping in section - that is the head is 20" out from its base. The best method appears to be creating a mass and using that to create the curtain wall. However, I am not familiar with complex massing in Revit and don't know of any good tutorials. For example, how does one create a mass that the top and bottom are not parallel? An irregular mass with all sides in completely different planes? Please help!

Like everything in Revit, there's a number of ways to get what you want. One method is the solid/void method if you just need fairly regular shapes where you create one solid mass and cut away what you don't need with as many voids as is required. Kind of like a sculptor taking away from a solid block to create the final form. The other method I use a fair bit is to create your solid forms with the sweep tool. This can be used for both simple linear forms as well as more complicated radial forms more easily (in my opinion). This method requires less thought about what will have to be removed with voids and requires fewer objects. At other times I've mixed the two. Just depends on the form. I'd be happy to help if you have a specific question. KMcCurdy@lorwil.com

specifically, i do not know how to cut the top of a mass so that it is no longer parallel to the bottom (like a sloped roof). another way of describing it: if one is looking at the mass in elevation, how can you "sculpt" the top? I have only been able to blend as if they were extrusions. is there a way to create complex reference planes (like a UCS in acad)? thanks.
