I've taken a look at the downloads but can't find a hatch pattern that is for a horizontal lines spaced 6", then 3", then 6" etc alternating. My clients want to see a horizontal board pattern where that is going on. alternating 6" and 3" siding.
the vertical "board and batten" pattern is kinda close, but of course 90 degrees off and spaced diff.
Does anyone know a place to get that? im not too versed in writting the pattern code.

If its a model pattern then the pattern can be rotated by tab selecting an individual line and rotating it. You can also find the .pat file and look for that pattern and adjust the spacing. Alternatively, I attach an explanation for creating a pattern from scratch.

It's a pretty simple pattern. I think it will be like this:
*Siding, 6in and 3in;%TYPE=MODEL0, 0,0, 0,90, 0,6, 0,9
I think you need to make sure the .pat file name is "Siding", or if you name it different make the first line in the code match. That will start with a 6in board, then a 3in and so on.... Hope it helps.

THanks a lot for the help.
the illustrated explanation is too confusing for me.
and the pattern noted down doesnt work. Just makes big lines. I have no idea how to fix that.
also, the pattern doesnt load unless you delete the 6 and 9 line from it. then it makes a simple 7'6 lines...
I dont know how to fix that. if someone who "knows" cant, why would revit think I can? :-(
I really appreciate the help. But there is no solution here.

Sorry.... the line breaks dropped from the pattern def in my previous post. Try the attached... i tested it here and it works.
The hatch codes seem confusing at first, but simple patterns are easier than you think when you get into it.
Let me know if it works for you.
