Stair arrow is shown completely with filled 30° arrow head at top tred and filled dot at the bottom tread in revit as per image REVIT_SS1 but wont print completely to PDF as per image PDF_SS2, the arrow head is missing and dot is not filled.

There is a transparent filled region over it which is the trigger as it does not happen when the filled region is taken away; it prints to PDF as shown on screen.

Using latest version of revit 2018.

Is this a known issue? (there was nothing i could find on it)

Is there a work around?

Any explanation would be most appreciated.

i have found veryweird printing / PDF things when the default windows printer is set to  'Microsoft Print to PDF' whether you use that particular printer on not. In fact the Microsoft Print to PDF driver is pretty much useless in general. Better to just remove the device all together.

Sorry should have specified;

I am using CutePDF Writer

Microsoft Print to PDF is long been terminated here for the exact same discovery of "veryweird printing / PDF things".
