i have an issue where families are showing up transparent. not all of them just some. light fixtres counter tops and specialty eq. thte thing is i have view templates set up some views are perfectly fine and others are not and they have the same view template. no overides of any kind. not sure whas going on and the view templates are not thte same when they should be.  oh revit 2017.2 windows 10

Try and insert the familiy into a new project to see if you still have the issue.  If it works there, make a new view in your project (same type as problem view) and see if the families are visible.  If that works, the issue is with your view.

Could this be a workset issue where the element is in a different workset?

Also.... I have found some of our users name a template in a similar manner to another template and they look like they are using the same template when they are not.  If you reassign the template, you may see the difference.

tried all those suggestions, good suggestions by the way but no luck,  snip 2 is the way ot should look. snip 1 is what i am getting on about 6 views/sheets. all have the same VT. they all were fine originally but somewhere along the line so decided they wanted to be different.

it is countertops and exam table in the snips that are the issue

ok,case closed...just printed our DD set and even though on screen it looks transparent/ wrong, it printd as it should have. so the tempplate is assigned but for some reason it is scrwewy when you just view it on those 6 sheets.
