This family I made with a line depent detail item. I need a dimentionline that:

- has no line  (first i had made the line white, but than it covers other things in the drawing)

- has the two arrowheads near the length number

- gives the length automatical

When I use this family I have to manually enter the given length. But when my drawing changes noting is changing with it. This is very importand with this project. Can a family mastermind help me out here?

Instead of a family, did you consider just setting up a new dimension style where it had a prefix '<' and a suffix '>', no tick marks, text centered

I have. But there where two problems:

- to let the line disapear i had to make the line white, but where the line covered an object i did see the white line. And also at the start and end there is a smal white thingy eventough i set al the settings to 0.00

- I had to insert the prefix and suffix all manually in the Dimension text. It is a huge project so this is not ideal.

Made you a family that does what you need. It is a line based detail item with a label annotation family inside it. I set the label text height to 2mm but you can change this in the family if you like.
