REVIT 20172.1

Im trying to save memory in my file so instead of modeling all the cabinetty in out kitchens and bathrooms, i am using 2D linework within detail families to represent each elevation

for my kitchens, i started with a generic model, i added work planes for each wall, then i added 2D detail families with the kitchen elevation linework for each elevation

when i load it into my project and cut a section, i see the elevation im supposed to see as well as the one behind the cutplane

can someone tell me why i keep seeing this elevation? i cant make a 2D detail a SHARED file, so each individual elevation file is not selectable in the main model to turn it off. i'm ableto turn off the appliances because those are 3D specialty equipment familes that are shared, so i can select them to turn them off in my model

i'm stumped and could use some help

thanks!

I really don't like your process.  So many good 3D cabinet families are available and at no real cost to file size.

This sounds like 3D linework, not 2D.

sorry you dont like my process, but i've done it before and it has worked just fine. its also not 3d linework. and the memory will increase when i input the kitchens in 250 units.
