How do you add filled cells to a 8: concrete block wall in plan (in florida every 4' into a cmu and at corners, openings)..does a new column type have tobe created? does anybody have typcal wall families already created in concrete block?

Nobody that I know of actually shows concrete block cells in plans, only in details. Walls are typically defined with a hatch that shows the difference of plain block walls and filled block walls. If you want to call this out with automatic noes, see my post here.
Architectural 'colums' can be used for pilasters because they will assume the material of the wall they are placed against.
