I am having a very strange issues related to levels, elevation and toposurface in Revit (2017). When I draw a floor at 0.0m, and check it with a spot elevation, it confirms that my floor is indeed drawn at 0.0m. When I create a toposurface by placing points, and set the points at 0.0m, then check the elevation with a spot elevation, it actually sits at 57.05m.
I checked my project base point and survey point and they are both at 0,0,0. I started this file based on a file given to us by one of our consultants, so I'm not sure if there might be something embedded in the file that's making this happen, or even where to start looking. I've attached pictures of what I'm talking about.
Has anyone else run into this? Can I fix it or do I have to redraw the file?

Check and see what settings you have for your spot elevation. It may be set to relative.

Good idea, but no, elevation origin is set to project base point. Changing it to survey point doesn't change anything either.

Solved!
I took a relative spot elevation at the project base point, and saw that it wasn't at 0,0,0, even though the project base point properties were 0,0,0. That told me that the survey point had been unpinned and moved at some point, so it was just a matter of unpinning the survey point and moving it to 0,0,0 based on the relative spot elevation. Then I moved the project up to the correct elevation by typing into the spot elevation. Then I moved the project base point up to match the survey point. Unfortunately this meant that I had to actually move my model up (I know you're not supposed to do that but no other methods were working). Now my topo points correspond to my base point referenced spot elevations. It's hard to wrap my head around but it seems to have worked out. All this taught me was not to trust base files given to me by others.
