Goal: Enlarged (1/4" = 1') elevation views of storefronts for dimensioning.
R17. I tripped into a few ways to do this, but none of them seem to cleanly and fully connect the curtainwall, tags, and viewports.
Looks like most users use a callout that is hidden in the larger view, with a wall tag instance made to look like a window tag, with everything but the curtainwall hidden in the resulting elevation. The downside is I'd like the viewport detail number to automatically match the tag and it doesn't. WWHub outlines it well in this thread that offers a convoluted workaround: https://www.revitcity.com/forums.php?action=viewthread&thread_id=20282&start=0
Another way is to create an elevation tag to use in plan view that looks like a window tag. Similarly, everything but the curtainwall is hidden in the resulting elevation. Then you use a viewport tag that looks like the window tag, and the detail number you input is what shows up on the tag in plan view. The downside is there isn't an automatically matching tag that works in the overall elevation view. I saw this method here: http://therevitkid.blogspot.com/2011/03/revit-tutorial-creating-curtain-wall.html
So my question is how you might make a viewport whose detail number automatically matches the wall (that looks like a window) tag, or how to make an wall (that looks like a window) tag match the detail number of the viewport?
