Hello,
I have a question regarding keyplans for titleblocks. In order to thoroughly ask my question, I need to provide a little bit of background. I am working on a project for a client who uses a very extensive sheet naming structure.
Sheets are named starting with the Project Number <red>, then followed by Site Name <blue>, Building Number <green>, Floor Number <orange>, the building's Wing <magenta>, Discipline, Type, and finally the Number <cyan>. I have created parameters in order to populate the titleblock with this information.
I have used instance parameters in order to highlight the location of the associated work in the keyplan for use on each sheet.
My question is this: Is there a way to create either a parameter or formula which will automatically highlight the appropriate area of work in the keyplan, which will do so based on the Wing <magenta> parameter?
This would be incredibly helpful for this project, as well as multiple other projects, because we do lots of work with this client.
Any information will be helpful. Thank you very much in advance.

I'm not sure that the previous poster wanted to sound blunt but I think he was suggesting the K I S S principle. That is typically good advice in a lot of situations. In this case, multiple legend types with the various areas highlighted as appropriate would be a simple and far easier solution. No need for anything automatic since the user placing the view on the sheet would know what type key plan to place and that would never change.
BTW - The previous poster is NOT a moderator.

Maybe it that can be done automatic or semi-automatic. If the building number is a shared parameter, maybe it then it can be pushed into another field with IF conditions to evaluate the right graphics to turn on.
You may need a schedule to make it work (semi-automatic).
It would be nice to hear if you succeed.
