So my linked revit "garage" shows the level markers overlapping, and doesnt make them "dog legged" to get out of the way of eachother, as its made in the original file. how do I make that happen?

What about hidding the linked levels and making those levels in your main project file?

Yeah, the workaround that Iwas contemplating.
I think though the update to the text line in the family would be better. but you're right. I feel like its a little tough to work with linked files. for my residential projects I think working with the separate small buildings in one project is a little easier.
