I'm thinking about starting a revit course at a local college.
I'm unsure if there will be a job for me at the end of it. Is revit losing favour to sketchup or others?
I'm also worried my age will be a factor. Will employers pass on me because i'm 30?
Could anyone give some insight on how they got started with revit? I'm all ears...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I can't predict your job opportunities, that depends on your local and ability.
Revit is still growing in use. Sketchup is growing too but these programs have completely different pedegrees. Sketchup is not a BIM tool and it is not a construction document tool, Revit is both of those and more.
What are you wooried about with your age? Too young? Certainly not too old....I started at >55 and still using at 70. I got started because I am a registered architect and had a 50 yr experience in hand drafting and CAD. Revit is superior to both of those.
