Hi,
I'm an HVAC Enginner from Sweden that is currently using Excel to Calculate heating requirements of buildings.
I've made my on Excel document and it works great, the only drawback is that you have to work with both Revit and Excel at the same time, making it quite unafficient, even thought it's much faster then by doing it by hand.
I'm been trying to create a set of formulas that can help me calculate the Heating requirements of rooms in buildings.
Since I'm not so experienced with the formulas and parameters yet, I'm looking for some advice.
So, below is my plan on how to build it.
Short version:
1 - Get working Parameters to enter U-Values in. Preferbly in the Startview or a Schedule.
2 - Figure out the correct way to calculate it, with Revit Formulas and Parameters.
3 - Making a specific Space Tag, where I can enter length and height, or Area, directly to the tag, while calculating a specific space.
4 - Making a Schedule that has Zone, Space, all the Calculated U-Values and Areas, Lenghts and Heights.
4.1 - Making the Schedule show Zone by Zone, in my case "Apartment by Apartment or Level by Level" (So It can be printed out for backup and storage)
5 - Wishing that others can use it for better workflow!
Here is an example,
U-value (Changeable) * Temp Difference (Changeable) = X
X * "Area" of Wall, Window, Door, etc = Watts.
Example for a wall.
U=0.09
T=Temp Difference = 35C
T=3,15
T(3.15) * 10 (Squre meters) Area of Wall = 31.5 Watts.
