We have recently purchased RS3 (Revit Structure 3) & I'm in the process of getting organized before deployment. I'm looking for a font that includes either or both of the following: 1. some of the more common symbols like centerline, plate, angle, and fractions (maybe) 2. an architectural hand-lettered font (similar to the likes of Archquik.shx, Architxt.shx or Archtitl.shx) so we can maintain the look/style that our firm has had for over 20 years Are there any fonts out there & available with both of these qualities? If so, are they freely distributable or for purchase? I would really like to retain the use of the special characters that we use all of the time, even if it means that we have to distribute a specific font to our clients for correct viewing. Can anyone offer some insight? Thanks in advance.

I believe there is a font called ArchiText.ttf which was once placed on this site in the resources section but had to be removed due to copyright. I believe it can be downloaded at a cost from www.fonts.com or similar. Centreline symbols can be added to dimension styles so when a centreline is dimensioned the symbol is automatically displayed. This symbol must be created with lines as opposed to text though in order to work. HTH.

Thanks very much for the input, guys. But between your suggestions/leads/links and the ones I got from my posting on AUGI, I have yet to find one that is even fairly close to the AutoCAD font that we use now. (see the attached gif) Those are what I'm trying to find in a TTF. Don't get me wrong: there are a number of fonts available that go by "arch..." but they are very different from what I've ever seen used. I guess that since I've been using the same set of fonts for over a dozen years (between different employers & numerous clients) I just figured that it/they would have been made into a TTF font somewhere along the way. I even inquired with a few of the font foundries about an estimate for custom conversion of the font & got the same reply: "We don't perform that type of conversion" from SHX to TTF. That was a surprise too because I thought those places would be a sure thing - for a price, of course. Since we're already changing over to Revit, maybe this is the time to change some other things that we do also. Again, thanks very much for the help.

I am a brand spanking new REVIT user. I'm currently in extreme love/hate stages with the program - more love than hate. Anyway, I did a google search on ArchiText.ttf (paste in browser) and I found a very nice text that is really close to the SHX file for free. It was the very first search result. Hope that works for you.

The (truetype) equivilent to Architxt.shx is Architxt.ttf - hard to find it. Graphite is somewhat similar to Architxt.
