Are there any users out there who would like to start a thread on Roofs?
I am thinking of maybe suggested methods and tools or what ever users are using to create roof types. Since there are so many complicated roof types to deal with it might be useful to share this knowledge of how users are using these methods.
I know I could use a variety of tips and methods others are using as sometimes you have to get very creative to come up with some out of this world roof types. Thinking beyond the standard tools that are in revit which just don't do it.

Question By A Revit User
Attempting to draw a basic gable roof, however, each of the bearing walls are at different elevations. The ridge line will be offcenter. Any suggestions as to how to do this simply ?

There are other options as well such as splitting the sketch and applying positive or negative offsets.
For the most comprehensive roof explanations I've seen, log into the subscription center, go to the AU2005 website and download the class handout from BD31-1 "Moving On Up and Keeping Dry with Autodesk Revit - Stairs and Roofs" by Jim Balding and Scott Brown of WATG.
