Hey.
I am working on an annotation family, and I got the family working the way I want it. it will change the appearance of an annotation dependent on the address I input.
Now I want that annotation to read the address created by a running index, so I don’t have to address each component manually.
I know that I can’t use a shared parameter inside the family type formulas of a annotation family (Why I can’t do that, but the label can use it beats me)
Is there a work around for this?
Here is an album off what I am trying to achieve:

Or if I have the label like this, so the label = the parameter "MC running index 1" and have the formula be "INTEGR = Label" in any way? Thanks

Hi, have you found a solution for this yet? Would you upload the file of your annotation family? I'd like to check it out

Thanks for sharing! So first, your shared parameter for "MC Running Index 1" is a text parameter, while your paramater "Adresse" is an integer parameter. So even if the annotation family allowed you to use the shared parameter in the formula, you wouldn't be able to use a text parameter as the formula for an integer parameter.
Also, I noticed this family a Fire Alarm Device tag. My suggestion that would allow you to achieve what your goal is in using the shared parameters would be to change the family type to a Generic Annotation. Changing it to a Generic Annotation will remove your shared parameters from your labels, so recreate your labels with family parameters. Then load the Generic Annotation into your Fire Alarm Device families. Within the Fire Alarm Device family, you can associate the generic annotation's Family Parameter "Adrese" with your Shared Parameter "MC Running Index 1" as well as associate your shared parameters with the annotation's family parameters you've created to populate your label. Just make sure that all of your parameters are the same units (i.e. integer parameters can only be associated with integer parameters).
This method would result in your Device tag existing within your Device families, rather than being tagged in views in your projects... So maybe not ideal for how you'd like to use it. Maybe someone else can offer up another work around, but this was the only process that I could think of!
