I want to place crown molding throughout an apartment I'm designing but I've run into a problem on some walls. There are areas in the apartment where a wall will end without meeting another wall and the crown molding doesn't seem to work there. It wont let me click on the small face of the wall though it works fine on either side. I've tried to mold other outside corners without problem. I've included a picture of one instance where it wont apply the molding. I'm using wall sweeps as well.

Personally I would probably never model crown molding (just show it in details) but a workaround you could use would be to create a wall type (probably just gypsum board) and use it as a return at all your wall ends. You could then pick that gypsum wall piece for you moulding. Also you could just model in place a sweep using your crown molding profile.

Thank you! That worked. I'm using revit as a starter design before I export to Unreal Engine where moldings not as easy otherwise I wouldn't model it.

With a wall sweep, you could also use Modify Returns tool to fix that end wall problem.

Most users have never explored the modify return tool and they should.

Excellant answer Pijpiwo!
