You say "uploaded". Are you referring to uploading a family to the RevitCity Library? or by uploaded, do you mean you uploaded a family from the family editor into your Revit model? If it is the latter, use the word "loaded" instead to avoid confusion.
If the latter, go to your project browser and expand the Families section, find your family within the relevant family category.
Right click and delete it.
Purging will remove it completely from your model including any associated materials. Note that you may not wish to Purge All if you wish some other families to stay in the model and just tick the only items that you wish purged.
Also to note, if your family is loaded into the project model but not placed anywhere within the model, purging will remove it from the model without the need to delete it from the project browser.

If you mean you uploaded to Revitcity, the removal process is not easy. You need to send an email to this site with your user name , the family you wish to delete and why. Then the site administrators can pass that on as a recomendation for deletion to the site owners. Only they can delete uploaded content.
In the mean time, you can upload your new family and explain the difference. We recommend that you thoroughly check your families before uploading.

Thanks WWHub i will remember that for future such a pain that you can't just delete it from the library if its your creation, but luckily the problems i thought the family had do not exist, just a silly mistake on my part when using it in revit.

sorry for the confusion to others was thinking of the forum being more related to revit city not Revit user operation queries in that sense the use of uploaded is much less confusing
