I am working in Revit LT 2017. I have seperate sheets for my 'Floor Plan' and 'Electrical Plan'. All of my electrical fixtures I have created by inserting a generic annotation into an Electrical Fixture family and insering the Electrical Fixture family into my project (so I can make a schedule of all my fixtures).

I have unticked the visibility of electrical fixtures in the 'Floor Plan' view template as I do not need them all to be showing. However, I want the Smoke detectors and skylights to be visible in the Floor plan. When I reveal hidden elements and select a smoke detector it only gives me the option of unhiding the whole category.

Any recomendations apart from unhiding the whole category and hiding individual items or having to insert the generic annotation in it's place would be absolutely amazing.

you can change the family category if you will schedule the smoke detectors and skylights in separate schedules , which i dont recommend ....... there is another option and its to use the medium detail level as the view for smoke detectors and sky lights ...... and thats by going inside the families you want to hide and make them invisible in the medium detail view ( if you are not using that for other purpose )
