why would anyone limit themselves to revit building when rs also has the structural analysis capapility? even if you're not an engineer your model has to end up there. (except maybe with residential and light commercial) but why be limited? i have not yet found anyone that knows of anything rb can do that rs can't.. any thoughts?

RS does not do the structural analysis, it passes along the RS model information to 3rd party packages via the API.
There are subtle differences between RB and RS. You would need to talk to an Autodesk re-seller for more information. If you are doing architecture though, I would just stick with RB. While the differences may be minor now, in the future that may not be the case with more architecture tools in RB than RS.

yes that's what i meant- the ability to pass along the structure for analysis where rb does not..
as for subtle differences i've only seen different button layouts but no functional difference..
as for there might be some functional differences in the future who knows..
i still wonder why someone would choose the version that says: "no you can't pass your
structure on for analysis even if you wanted to" - if there was a difference in price this
might be a reason but i don't see that there is.. anyone else care to comment?

you might want to ask that questions directly to Autodesk
my rep told me the only difference at this point is during install of RS, that the amount of architecture components installed is minimal compared to RB and you will have to do the rest manually
i aggree with tom, that at some point this will surely change from the stand point of architectural tools in RB vs. tools in RS
that's my 2 cents

i can't see predicting there will be less tools in rs in the future- based on what?
as for different installed components - we get them from the components library anyway..
the only difference i've seen so far is that one restricts you from exporting a model for
structual anaylisis and the other don't.. keep looking for a real difference and let me know..
