None of the preset profiles will work for my cornice , but when i try to create a new one or edit an existing one it says "Invalid compound structure" when i try to load it as a sweep on a wall. How can i get the profile I want?

Have faced simila issues when working from generic cornice sweeps from the library. I ended up creating a profile from scratch on a generic profile and use that instead. The cornice sweep profiles in the Imperial library have way too many constraints to mess with and derive a secondary profile from it.
Try creating a profile from scratch, you will be surprised, how convinient it would be!
