We are trying to create plans for the owner that convey space utilization during certain periods during the day. Is there a way to manipulate the room tags so the color fill changes per plan to show different colors throughout the day? I am thinking of assigning a phase to a room tag and add new phases to the project to convey these periods of the day. And then creating parameters for the schedule, but this would not be linked (aka - I would have to assign a phase in the schedule and then in the plans) I want these to be linked parameters so changing them in the schedule would coordinate everything.
I hope I am clear. Any suggestions you can offer would be fantastic.

The first question is: Do you want to show the utilization by room or by complete areas.
If by room you could add shared parameters (which can appear in schedules and tags) to rooms. For example:
Usage period 1
Usage period 2
Usage period 3
etc.
You would then fill in the new parameters in any view you choose including schedules.
Then you would have multiple floor plan views for each usage period that you assign a color fill scheme to based on each usage period.
If you want whole chunks of space rather than down to each room, it might be easier to use Area Plans. You could create a new area scheme for each usage period and place the area lines in each scheme, add area tags and color fill.

Tom - in answer to your question, it would be shown by room, but the intent is to show basically occupied or not during this period of time.
Thank you for your quick response, I'll check it out.

You could simply then add project parameters to the room category that are instance based yes/no.
Then simply check on the room as being occupied in the periods that you want it to be either in the schedule or room properties (V9)
You would then have a color fill scheme created for each period and I would assing the "no" occupancy a white or no fill and simply show the occupied spaces with a color.
I just tested it and it works very easily.
