I am trying to do some work on a file on my second computor. The file is ok but the user materials that I created are not there. I created some new Pantone wall colors and saved them in the user materials file but thy dont appear on the second computer. I cant find a separate storage area for them, I presume they are project based only. If this is so why dont they transfer with the project file.
With thanks
Stev

Your "user" material library is not project based but rather works for all Revit projects. The path to find it is:
C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataAutodeskRevit Building 9RenderingAccuRenderRedist
The file name is user.mlb
You could copy it from the first computer to the second, but I would establish a more nuetral location for my user created material library and patterns and name it so it is unique to yourself. If you want to have the same version on two PC's, then choose a common network location, or if they are not networked you will manually have to copy the file around tracking which is the most current version.
Be sure to add the new .mlb library path to the Revit Rendering location tab.
