I'm trying to copy/monitor a floor slab from a sub grade parking model to an above grade model. However, Revit copy/monitors the slab object incorrectly - it copies to some unknown offset value. Properties for each object in both models are identical including level data, but Revit still fails to copy/monitor correctly. Does anyone have a resolution to this error?

Looking deeper I see that the original object has modified subobjects - outside points are set to varying offsets. The copy/monitor operation apparently ignores this? Why would that be?

Copy monitor is a coordination tool intended to be used with a linked model and is the SAME element but in the host model.  It is not a copy process to be used in completely different models.

Thanks for your reply 'hub, but that doesn't answer my question. I'm am utilizing this process to coordinate objects between models. I understand how copy /monitor works. The question is, whether the modified sub-elements in the object that is desired to be coordinated is intentionally ignored in the copy /monitor process and if there is a solution to overcome it. Thanks.

Your HELP says:

Shape-edited floors: If you use Copy/Monitor to copy a shape-edited floor (or slab), the copied element is flat. Use the Slope Arrow tool to slope slabs when possible, or use a separate slab in each building model. See Sloped Surfaces.

There it is. It's just missing functionality. Got it. Thanks.
