I have an elevation view where I would like to display a stairs beyond a curtainwall. I'd like to use the lineweight tool to accomplish this rather than introduce transparency because the PDF printer driver fails to display the graphics correctly (random omission of curtain panels in print). However, I've discovered that Revit apparently does not support modifying the linework of the stair stringers?! Does anyone know why this is? It really sucks. Thanks.

(about Show Hidden Lines tool) Stair by sketch works as expected, not possible though for the component stair (Autodesk Knowledge). However, I noticed when the Far Clip Offset cuts the stair, the stringer shows through, not the treads/risers though???
Linework tool works fine (R 2017.1).
Not ideal, but you can always trace over with the hidden line.
EDIT: Oops, I thought you were asking about Show Hidden Lines tool. Linework tool works.

I'm trying to affect the stringers, not the treads and risers. Those do work as expected. The stair stringers cannot, in any way, be snapped to or modified by either drawing additional lines over the top, or by using the linework tool. I'm working in 2016, so maybe Autodesk resolved this glitch in 2017? I still do not have a resolution unless someone else can confirm that this functionality does not exist in 2016. Thanks.

Must be some glitch on your end. In 2016 R2 show hidden lines tool works as I described in my previous post, except risers and treads (and stringer) are visible when far clip offset cuts through the stair (see pic). In 2017.1 only stringer is visible. Snapping and linework tool work as expected in both versions. Have you tried in a new project with default template?
Edit: We are talking about the component stair, right?

Yeah this doesn't work here. I am using a component stair and the stronger component is a c-channel type running along the outside (steel pan stair). This object is simply unrecognizable by the linework tool. I don't think this is a local issue. It appears systemic.
