Hello everyone.

I am modeling in revit.I need to edit the first step of my staircase.

The first step of my staircase should be 900 x 900 in plan and the rest can be normal size like 300 x 900 or whatever default size.

But revit does not allows me to edit default stairs.

I know if i model a sketched stair, I can do this. or i can add e extra slab for the size of 900 x 900 and lift the stair.

But i want to do it with default staircase.

Please help me out guys.

Thank you.

what i would do : i use stair by component finish the stair as i want it and then you can pick that flight inside the stair  , and convert that flight to sketch and change that first step to whatever shape you like

hope this helps....

You can edit the stair sketch to do this but you may have to add a break in the stringer lines to allow them to adjust.

Hi,

Elnazer2 & WWHub ,

Thanks for your replies.

It helped me to edit the plan size as i wanted . But As you can see in the side view, the first step thickness gets small compared

other steps. If i give base level value in negative, total stair is going down.

Is there any way to fix it ?

Thanks

Something else is wrong here.  Did you add linework instead of just moving the sketch lines?

@ WWHub.

1. Selected the first line for copy

2. Copied to right side upto 3 feet

3.Exteded boundary lines

4. Draged runner line to match the first line

5. The result comes like this.

Hope you will understand my steps.

Please try once and Upload the picture if it comes correctly for you.

In addition,

Instead of copying if i move the first line and extend runner and boundary , i end up with the same result.

Adding lines can be problematic if you don't understand how they have to be added.  No need to copy the first riser, just move it.  I don't have Revit here to check this but after dragging the first riser over, if the two boundries didn't extend then extend them.   Now you migh thave to insert a break in each boundry at the second riser.

Hi,

WWHub.

Thanks for you to keep giving consecutive solutions for my problem.

I did breaking the boundary lines in both sides at the second riser line as you said.

But there is no change . It is still same.

Please give any other working solution.

Thanks.
