I am working on a project with just "Spot Elevation - Cross Hair" family in there. It is weird. So I tried to load the other Spot Elevation Annotation in. I can see the "new" loaded family in the Project Browser. But I still can't see them in the list in the Properties. But when open a new project, most of the annotation are already loaded. I asked couple people in the office, nobody knows the reason. Please let me know if anyone ever run into the same situation. How to solve it? Thanks.

Are you saying the spot elevation tag is not in the drop down at the top of the properties? Is the 'new' tag in the the correct family category? If it is one that someone made its likely still categorized as a generic model tag. You can change this within the family itself under the modify tab click the icon on the left side with the little yellow folder symbol.

I think what u have to do is duplicate ur spot elev sym type and change just the symbol field into the type properties dialog as shown in the image

It is a tag from Revit. Spot Elevation - Target Filled and Spot Elevation - Target Filled w Extension. It is in the project browser, under Families>Annotation Symbols>Spot Elevation - Target Filled, Families>Annotation Symbols>Spot Elevation - Target Filled w Extension. But not in the drop down menu in properties.

Thanks, Sllana. It works.
But why would it be different from other project? It is strange.

It's all about the structure of the program: It appears in the project browser once you have loaded it, because there, all families you have loaded, are listed, while in the properties, you assemble the symbol the way you want it, using families you have in your model file, and it is not the same as other's cuz that particular family is not in the template you used when started yours. (in other words, it is not the default one). Hope u get it.

I see. It is good to know. I don't have to look and load and look and load again and again.
