Utilizing Revit 2016. A two-part question:
1) How does one create/manipulate the elevation tag family to actually create a seperate annotation type to allow for view filtering. Example is you have the floor plan and then enlarged floor plans. Elevation tags show in both, in the same location at the varying scales. It's either ALL or none. I'd like to have an elevation tag for floor plans (1/8" scale) and one for large scale plans (1/2" scale). Each would have unique category characteristics that would allow them to be controlled seperately.
2) Why do interior elevations cut through walls, etc. but not through specialty type families? Example is the interior elevation of a bathroom wet wall. Will not cut through the toilet partition families. Shows them in elevation with the doors, etc. obstructing the back wall despite the elevation line being cut well behind the partition wall.

When you clisk on the actual elevation arrow (not the bubble) in the properties there is an option to hide the element at certain view scales.
As for families that dont cut in plan view such as mechanical category. This is because these items would never be cut in real life as this would make them useless (If you cut through a boiler it will no longer function as intended). These items are also ones that are not usually built on site (not the same as assembling on site)

1) Thank you very much, that's the little piece I was missing.
2) So what kind of family should toilet partitions be made from to avoid this? Or does Revit not have the capability to create toilet room elevations of the walls behind the partitions?

This is a list of all the non cuttable families so just use any other type that is appropriate.
Balusters
Detail Items
Electrical Equipment
Electrical Fixtures
Entourage
Furniture
Furniture Systems
Lighting Fixtures
Mechanical Equipment
Parking
Planting
Plumbing Fixtures
Plumbing Fixtures wall based
Specialty Equipment
I would most likely make washroom partitions as generic model families if they need to be cuttable

Thank you so very much again. I changed the family to generic and it now cuts/looks/works like I thought it should.
