When we save a Ray Trace image to a project, the image saves with the white area of the screen surrounding it. The area is essentially the area of the screen surrounding the rendered view. This becomes a problem when we're trying to place the image onto a sheet, especially when trying to place multiple images on a sheet. The white area to the sides basically blocks the other images.

Is there any way to have Revit not render the surrounding screen area? Or is there a way to crop images saved to the project?

Thank you!

I don't have Revit up to test your problem but I will suggest this.  We never save images into the file.   Instead, we export the image into our project folder then if we want to place it in the project, we import it as an image.  This allows us to edit the image if we want to and it keeps our project file size down.

YES!!! There is a way.. and it is very simple.  was having this issue today.

So what i found out is that as ray trace renders full region of the window / drawing area,

You can adjust the Drawing area / the dockable window showing your view such that it shows only the desired region of your model.

Enable ray trace and save. the image gets saved under renderings in project browser and it wont have the big white space.

I HAVE ATTACHED AN IMAGE TOO ))

(THE QUESTION WAS ASKED IN 2016 NOW ITS 2019

LOL IM LATE BUT SOMEONE MIGHT FIND IT USEFUL)
