Hey everyone, I unfortunately have many coordination drawings that were made in autocad and are being requested to be on the Revit draings.  I was hoping to link the .dwg file becasue they will continue to be used for coordination.  I plan on not placing them in the "model" and simply drawting views.

I recall a post years back about how to mask unwasted regions with essentially a masking region that has a whole in in.  So I made my drafting views and linked in my cad files (the cad file is a true model space which has many views and paperspace layout tabs and I was hoping to continue with this) and applied the masking region, which is quite large.

However, when I place my revit drafting views onto sheets, the masking region from one view is masking the elements in other views which I was not anticipating.  Does anyone have a solution for this (if I was clear enough) or a bettter way of getting this task done.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Greg

Any view on a sheet has priority by the order they were placed.  For example, if you put VIEW 1 on a sheet first then VIEW 2, VIEW 2 will sit over or mask VIEW 1.  Now if you add a VIEW 3, VIEW 3 will mask VIEW 1 and VIEW 2.

Thanks for the reply.  I figured that was happening.  I just wondered if there was a way to prevent masking regions within views from masking other vierw elements or if there was a better way to crop drafting views.

Can I have an AutoCAD layout tab linked inside a drafting view?
